OTHM is a UK based Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
Ofqual is responsible for maintaining standards and confidence in qualifications. Ofqual looks after GCSEs and A levels in England, and a wide range of vocational qualifications in England. Ofqual also regulates the National Curriculum Assessments in England.
OTHM main objectives are:

HRD CORP

HRD Corp is responsible for driving Malaysia’s talent development aspirations through the collection of levy from employers and the funding of training and development programmes for the Malaysian workforce.
in recent years they have evolved their mission to also include driving employment and industrial training placements, career coaching and counselling and developing income generating opportunities for Malaysians from a diverse range of skillsets, backgrounds and capabilities.

Southwest University (SWU)

Founded in 2005, Southwest University (SWU) encompasses Southwest Normal University and Southwest Agricultural University, which share an origin dating back to 1906. The school enjoys a long-standing history as its fame through ceaseless strive towards academic innovation and integration with social development.
WU has an extensive set of disciplinary categories including philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art. It is especially known for its distinctive teacher education and agricultural education.

UOW Malaysia

In January 2015, UOW Malaysia KDU University College moved to its new flagship campus at Utropolis Glenmarie, with its state-of-the-art facilities and a contemporary teaching and learning environment.
UOW Malaysia KDU University College offers a wide range of programs at Certificate, Foundation, Diploma, Degree and Postgraduate levels and has introduced home-grown degree programs that are at the forefront of growing industries, reflecting its promise of being a real-world university meeting real-world need.

KEY PERSONS

Dr. Yim Hip Seng

Head of Academy (Senior Partner)

Dr. Yim, a trained nutritionist, holds a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Community Health as well as an MSc in Community Nutrition from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Additionally, he earned a PhD in Food Science from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. With over 20 years of combined experience, Dr. Yim has made significant contributions to both higher education and the health and nutrition industry. During his 15-year tenure as an academic (former Associate Professor of Nutrition and Director of Postgraduate Studies at UCSI University), Dr. Yim demonstrated expertise in academic programme development, management, and compliance. He also played a pivotal role in MQA program accreditation and maintaining high standards of the programmes. His extensive knowledge extends to health and nutrition, where he spent 7 years focusing on sales development within the health, wellness and pharmacy sectors. Dr. Yim is a Life Member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and holds the Ministry of Health’s Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification (GCP: C201605031). As a certified Professional Trainer (NCS-004:2017) by the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia, he brings valuable training expertise to his field. His research contributions are equally impressive, with over 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications in food science and nutrition. His SCOPUS h-index stands at 18 (as of 2024).

Dr. Yap Wai Sum

Head of Academic Affairs and Registrar

With over a decade of experience in higher education teaching in Malaysia, Dr. Yap possesses comprehensive knowledge of the educational regulations and standards set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and is familiar with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Additionally, she is well-versed in the UK's education system, specifically in the requirements of OTHM, Qualifi and BTEC qualifications.
